The Bridge.
I am from LA, and carry nostalgia and romance for flat dusty cities. El Paso is really hot in the summer months. Really hot. This is one more of the less obvious ways that an immigrant destination is shaped going forward: global warming. El Paso is a city which seems to want nothing more than peace while living in the middle of a busy street of global capital.
A city under siege, but getting on with its life. An epicenter of resilience and struggle. Over the last year, El Paso has become one of the explicit targets of an administration which does not seem to see all of its citizens.
